The preferred credential for taking the examination in Nutritional Wellness is a masters level degree in nutrition, while the preferred credential for taking the examination in Traditional Naturopathy is an advanced or graduate degree that includes significant content in naturopathy.

However, recognizing that education can be a combination of formal education, practical experience, apprenticeships or other modes of experiential learning, applications from individuals with such education will be evaluated. Documentation of education will be required for approval to take the exam.

It should further be recognized that successful completion of either exam in no way qualifies the individual to use a doctoral designation.
